1st Winona Scouts have been meeting in Winona Park since the troop first formed in 1944. The very first group committee shows a $25 donation from the Winona Men’s Club to get the group started.

They offer programs for children and youth ages 5 to 17. Beaver Scouts (5-7) enjoy multiple activities and adventures at the hut and in the community. Cub Scouts (8-10) explore new challenges and plan adventures as a Pack. Together, they navigate the very same jungle that Mowgli roamed in The Jungle Book.

The older programs, Scouts (11-14) and Ventures/Rovers (15-17) take adventure to the next level. These programs become more hands-on as youth take charge of more of their activities and camps, making friends in other troops and companies who share their passion to “Be Prepared” and “Climb Higher.”

Scouts of all levels are active in their community and are committed to learning more about the natural world. They develop valuable leadership skills and earn merit badges, showing skills in a wide variety of tasks.
